We’re Restoring

the East Canfield Village

Community

Canfield Consortium is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community development organization committed to restoring the neighborhood community experience in East Canfield Village.

Our

Vision

Canfield Consortium works to sustain a thriving, economically diverse community in East Canfield Village through a focus on neighborhood stabilization, affordable housing options, access to quality jobs and transit, preservation of green spaces, and the development and empowerment of legacy Detroit residents whose voices are not otherwise heard.

East Canfield

Art Park

Canfield Consortium is using the influence of art and the power of Detroit artists to enhance the East Canfield Village neighborhood and to highlight local culture. The East Canfield Art Display supports the organization’s mission of improving residents’ quality of life by enriching the community landscape and experience (and by establishing places to visit in our own neighborhood).

The East Canfield Art Park supports local artists by collaborating on public art commission and creating ongoing exhibitions and community events.

Jack’s

is back

Exciting plans are in motion to breathe new life into the historic “Jack’s” building and transform it into a vibrant neighborhood hub. This renovation project pays homage to the former owner’s impact in the community and sets the stage for a fresh, community-focused space.

Canfield Consortium is committed to bringing amenities back into the neighborhood, bridging the gap between what residents need but leave the neighborhood to find.

Canfield Connect

Community Design Guide

Canfield Consortium has initiated the development of the Canfield Connect, a neighborhood greenway link for the East Canfield Village neighborhood on Detroit’s East side.

The Canfield Connect will serve as a much needed spur that links East Canfield Village to rest of the city. In building connections between city parks, neighborhood schools and major thoroughfares, the Canfield Connect can support safer ways of getting around the East Canfield Village neighborhood.
