We are so proud to share that Phase One of the Canfield Connect is now complete!
If you’ve ever walked the Dequindre Cut, you understand the spirit of what we’re building here, just on a more intimate, neighborhood scale. The Canfield Connect is a mini greenway tucked in the heart of East Canfield Village, designed for walking, biking, rollerblading, and other non-motorized ways to move through the neighborhood.
This new greenway runs from Montclair to French Road, creating a dedicated, welcoming space where neighbors can travel safely, spend time outdoors, and feel connected to the place they call home.
What was once a forgotten, overgrown lot is now a place to gather. With native plants, wildflowers, and thoughtful landscaping, the pathway brings a sense of calm and care to the center of the community. Every detail was chosen to make the space feel open, accessible, and reflective of the neighborhood’s unique character.
No more cutting through empty fields. The Canfield Connect offers a safer, more beautiful way to travel. A path created with intention and designed to support both movement and belonging.
Thanks to the generous support of AARP Michigan and the expertise of BrightView Landscaping, this space has been transformed into something truly meaningful. And with design renderings by JIMA Studio guiding the vision, the project took shape in a way everyone could see and get excited about from the very beginning.
We’re excited to share this new chapter with East Canfield Village. Phase One is just the beginning, and Phase Two is already in motion. If you’d like to support the next phase of Canfield Connect, we welcome your involvement.
